That's the NE corner of Commerce and Exposition in Dallas. despite the Commerce address this club is, thankfully, far enough away from the deep ellum mooks that you are guaranteed a good time. i've heard nothing but great stuff about this place and i shoulda gone to see Pleasant Grove there a few weeks back but i think i was sick. phone: 214.887.6510. www.double-wide.com Chao is Regina Chellew who used to be in Captain Audio. i haven't seen her play too recently but the last time i saw Chao it was a great show! plan on checking out both sets. i'm on first and then Chao. the cool thing is that it's just us two. no waiting through two other crappy bands. straight to the good stuff! i'm not sure of the exact times so get there early, acclimate yourself to the new environment, grab yourself a beer, check out the hot girl at the end of the bar, stare a little too long, begin to creep her out, ask yourself why you can't stop staring even though you know that you are scaring her, try to shoot her your patented million dollar smile to ease the tension, catch glimpse of self smiling maniacally in mirror behind bar and realize that you are failing to ease said tension, run like hell after she tells the rockabilly bartender to kick your pasty white ass, hide in your car for half an hour crying and repeating "WHY, WHY, WHY" over and over and then sneak back into the club just in time to catch my storming set. c'mon, you can do it! recapping: Chao Peter Schmidt w/ Rich Martin Saturday August 2nd Double Wide 3510 Commerce thanks to everyone who came out to all the Barley House shows. overall it was a pretty cool month and i hope everyone had as good a time as i did. sorry that the final sunday ran so late. i didn't end up going on until well after the time that i normally finished and i know that some of you had to leave before i played that song i wrote about you. anyways i'll probably do another month of sundays there sometime in the not too distant future. the new super furry animals cd "phantom power" is pretty great as is "budakon - the complete concert" by cheap trick. go buy them. don't buy the new cheap trick record "special one" unless you wanna be depressed. and don't buy that record by that old soul singer guy that you just heard was making a comeback unless you can find a copy with just his voice and without the soulless robert cray sounding guitarist that shits all over the whole damn thing. the singer is howard tate and i bear him no ill will. you have 10 hours to buy my van or i'm trading it in. i mean it. enough, peter --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: lcc_news-unsubscribe@thelcc.net For additional commands, e-mail: lcc_news-help@thelcc.net
