From: Peter Schmidt Date: Tue Jan 28, 2003 12:23:56 AM US/Central To: lcc_news@thelcc.net Subject: [lcc_news] if it only hurts when i laugh i'm not worried eh, LCC plays this friday january 31st at rubber gloves in denton, tx. we're in the middle. after The Theater Fire and before Pleasant Grove. check out http://www.rubberglovesdentontx.com if you need more info. good news. we have replenished our stock of LCC buttons. some of you have been stranded with an "L" and only one "C" or maybe two "C's" and no "L". it is no longer necessary for you to feel the burn of shame reddening your cheeks as you walk into your favorite hotspot one or two (or even three) buttons short of a full load. but you gotta hurry cause not only are we fucking amazing but we are also incredibly nice and we give away buttons and stickers for free. so far anyways. and because i'm feeling particularly charitable LCC t-shirts will be sold at this show for only 5 bucks american if you ask nice. go look at the buttons: http://www.thelcc.net did you see "confession's of a dangerous mind"? did ya? was it good? was it good enough to pay for twice? i mean was it good enough to pay for twice if the first time you paid to see it was ruined by the scourge that is the movie-talker? is it good enough to overcome having kinda seen at least half of the movie but not really having heard it because your blood was boiling because you nicely asked the couple two rows in front of you to shut the fuck up (but nicely) because you didn't need to hear about his day at work or her sister's operation for 5 minutes let alone the 45 minutes that they went on and on for and instead of realizing that maybe they were bothering someone who paid for a ticket with money that he worked hard for that they continued to talk even louder and give you dirty looks because apparently you were ruining their evening instead of the other way around even though you know that they saw the little movie trailer thingy that said that the audience should be respectful of other audience members and that you should not "add you own soundtrack - YOU ARROGANT PIECE OF SHIT MOTHERFUCKER" or words to that effect anyways? was it that good? just curious. i read the whole behind the scenes Mr. Show book that my roommate got for christmas (shhh, don't tell him) and if you are a fan of the single funniest show ever to have mistakenly made it on TV then i recommend that you read your roommates copy too. tell him or her to order it at www.bobanddavid.com. kinda of a neat look at the creative process that will reinforce the fact that shit that good doesn't happen on accident. i have so much more respect for bob odenkirk than any musician that i can think of. got the 24 hour party people dvd and it is just as great as it was in the theater. the real tony wilson commentary is pretty interesting. haven't heard much new music lately but i did buy that new Hot Hot Heat cd and even though it could just have easily been one of those things that annoyed the hell out of me i really enjoyed it. can't explain. haven't been excited about anything else lately. any tips? last saturday was james (guitar) birthday. buy him a drink at the show. i'm sure he won't mind that you're a little late. i have seriously tried to ween myself off of reality tv lately but when you got a show that features Vince Neil as the voice of reason you just have to tune in. i'll quit soon. LCC did some recording recently some of which may make it's way onto the website soon. we'll let you know. enough, peter --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: lcc_news-unsubscribe@thelcc.net For additional commands, e-mail: lcc_news-help@thelcc.net
